Lucy Barbera, Ph.D., Director of The Creative Art Therapy Studio, will present a one hour workshop helping children ages 8 to 12 realize their thoughts and feelings about the future light in their lives and how to express it through a piece of original art. Each child will end with a creation reflecting their personal future to keep or submit to the Community Star Art Program.
This art contest is a call for youth and adults to submit artwork that reflects a message of hope, interdependence, and community engagement. It is an opportunity to think critically about collective experiences with the pandemic, and how we might spark joy and motivation to care for our neighbors. Artists’ creative expression will light up the lives of local nursing home residents through the long winter months.
Art supplies will be given to participants.
